Baby Lakers Fall Short, 3-2, at Surprise
|
The Surprise Shockers took Bompton pitcher Charlie Lyon's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Shockers Field. The final score had Surprise getting past the Baby Lakers, 3-2. Lyon went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 3. The Shockers go to 37-45, putting them 10th in the Menard's R.
Robbie Fisher had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Shockers. Coming up with the bases loaded and Surprise trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double.
After the game, Surprise manager Sake van Arem applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
