In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Surprise Shockers grabbed a 4-1 win over the Athletic Club KC U-21 at Ballpark of Elkhorn City. Surprise catcher Al Miller was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. The win was Will Fox's in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Conor March took the loss for Athletic Club KC.
Surprise designated hitter Stephen Hicks contributed to the cause with a double in the top of the first. For the game, Hicks went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Surprise manager Sake van Arem. "Our pregame was pretty good."
