Lucas, Plattsburgh Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Plattsburgh starter Don Lucas put a stranglehold on the Ellesmere Island offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Puffer Fish to a 2-0 win. Juan González got the save, his 6th in 6 chances. The Puffer Fish bumped their record to 42-41 with this latest triumph.
In his 96-pitch effort, Lucas allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 7.
"The old adage is true," said Lucas. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
