With center fielder Ai-de Lau leading the charge, the Beaumont Crossbeaus defeated the Capital Hill Interns, 6-5, at Alouettes Ballpark. Lau, who is tied for 4th in the SR with a .393 on-base percentage, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Beaumont reliever Keala Mikala was credited with the win, to go to 3-3. Enrique Montoya took the loss for Capital Hill. Getting the save was Víctor Ramírez, his 9th.
The critical at-bat for Beaumont came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Lau drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Beaumont up, 6-5.
"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Lau told the Beaumont News.
Beaumont is third in the Silver R with a record of 38-29.
