Loss to Puffer Fish Extends Germantown Losing Streak
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish topped the Germantown Uruguayans, 6-4, in USSL Rookie action at Plattsburgh Park. The player of the game was Plattsburgh pitcher and Queens, New York native Patrick Saunders. The winning pitcher was Saunders, now 6-2. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Germantown now has a 9-game losing streak.
Vic Coates hit a run-scoring double off Ernesto Bańuelos in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Puffer Fish in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Coates had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"It was a solid team effort," said Coates after the game.
