Victory Over Cajuns Takes Twinsburg to 38-17
|
The Twinsburg Tigers defeated the Crowley Cajuns, 6-2, in USSL Rookie action at Titans Ballpark, with Twinsburg pitcher Micheal Ford named player of the game. Ford picked up the win for Twinsburg, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Twinsburg is now 38-17, 4 games up in the Silver R.
Twinsburg used the timely hitting of Keith Thomas to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Tigers on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Thomas told the Twinsburg Times.
