4-0 Puffer Fish Win over Baby Blues Evens Season Record
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish went home winners at Plattsburgh Park, thanks in large part to starter Randy Woodruff. Woodruff silenced the Quebec City Baby Blues, enabling Plattsburgh to grab the 4-0 win. Woodruff, now 4-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The Puffer Fish move to 25-25 with the win, while the Baby Blues drop to 22-28.
The Puffer Fish got a lift from center fielder Jay Harris who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth inning off Mike Perkins. It was his 27th RBI of the season and put Plattsburgh in front, 1-0.
"We played hard and won," said Woodruff. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
