Baby Blues Raise Rally Flag, Beat Capital Hill, 5-4
|
The Quebec City Baby Blues took Capital Hill pitcher Tom Thornton's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dylan Park. The final score had Quebec City getting past the Interns, 5-4. Thornton went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 9. The winner was Quebec City reliever Arlen Mata, now 2-1. The loser was Lung Zhou. Quebec City is 20-25 and Capital Hill, with the loss, 30-15.
With runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the ninth, Winston Clark delivered the knockout blow when he hit a 2-run double to win it for Quebec City. In the contest, Clark was 1-1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Clark.
