Victory Pushes Crossbeaus Record to 25-20
|
Beaumont rode a fine outing from starter Miguel Aguirre to victory over the Shady Side Zoomies at Terriers Ballpark. The final score was 9-0. The winning pitcher was Aguirre, now 4-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Beaumont occupies third place in the Silver R at 25-20.
Beaumont needed the clutch hitting of Ai-de Lau to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 3-0. For the game, Lau had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Benjamin Brouwer.
