Crossbeaus Come Back Late to Clip Baby Blues
|
The Beaumont Crossbeaus stymied the Quebec City Baby Blues, 6-2, at Dylan Park. Ai-de Lau, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times for Beaumont. Beaumont reliever Keala Mikala got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Bill Lawrence was tagged with the loss. Víctor Ramírez earned the save for Beaumont, his 2nd of the year.
Beaumont used a timely hit from Jae-keol Om to get the win. The second baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Beaumont manager António Pineda.
The Crossbeaus now have a mark of 18-10.
