Tigers Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
With right fielder Duncan Taylor leading the charge, the Twinsburg Tigers defeated the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 7-5, at The Target. Taylor was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Rob Anderson got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up no runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Steven Carlson picked up the save for Twinsburg, his 1st of the year.
Twinsburg used the timely hitting of Ray Winters to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Tigers on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Taylor said after the game.
With the win, Twinsburg pushes its record to 2-4.
