Ren Slugs Cajuns to 6-4 Win
The Crowley Cajuns put the giddy home crowd in an even more jubilant mood after beating the Beaumont Crossbeaus in the season opener at Titans Ballpark. Right Fielder Li-ren Ren won player of the game plaudits for Crowley. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Crowley reliever José Martínez picked up the win to move to 1-0. Brenden Cleverdon suffered the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Iván Torres.

Ren had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Brenden Cleverdon, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Cajuns a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Ren.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Ren told the Crowley Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
