Centennial Shut Out Warheads
|
Right-hander Victor Jones mesmerized the Amarillo Warheads while leading the Fort Knox Centennial to a 6-0 victory. Jones picked up the win for Fort Knox, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 9-7. The second-place Centennial have won 4 in a row.
The Centennial grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Dave Watson, who is tied for 8th in the PR in runs scored with 52, hit a 3-run home run off Colm Broomfield, putting Fort Knox in front, 4-0. For Watson, it was his 8th home run of the season.
"Victor was pounding the zone," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
