Ducks Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Long Island Ducks topped the Bethlehem Angel Kitties, 4-3, in USPL Rookie action at Ducks Park. The player of the game was Long Island pitcher Liu-liang Liu. Harvey Caldwell got credit for the win, improving to 8-7. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Ducks saw their record improve to 57-36.
Long Island won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no outs and Joel Lewis on the mound for Bethlehem, third baseman Emanuel Koudstaal hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Ducks fans to their feet.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Koudstaal, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
