Rhinos Knock Off Hounds at Hound Pound

The Redwood Rhinos picked up a win at Hound Pound, knocking off the Hicksville Hounds, 6-1. On the mound for Redwood was right-hander Rubén Sánchez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Redwood reliever Rubén Sánchez got the win, raising his record to 6-3. Steve Ward was tagged with the loss. The Rhinos, at 34-48, sit in 8th place in the Premier R.
In the top of the sixth, Redwood third baseman Maurice Hinkle had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Hinkle stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-1, Redwood. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Sánchez, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
