Centennial Prevail, 5-4, Over Hicksville
|
The Hicksville Hounds got a superb performance from catcher Ramiro Rivera. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fort Knox. The Centennial won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Rivera was named the player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Fort Knox reliever Paul Kartodirdjo, now 5-2. The loser was Fei Mo. Edward Pritchard earned the save, his 8th, for the Centennial.
Luis Macazaga found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Hicksville hurler Fei Mo, the 20-year-old left fielder hit a sacrifice fly. His 15th RBI of the season put the Centennial on top, 5-4.
"We found a way to get it done," Macazaga said.
The Centennial raised their record to 49-32.
