The Hicksville Hounds extended their winning streak at Ducks Park.

The Long Island Ducks got a superb performance from pitcher Raúl Fuentes. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hicksville. The Hounds won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Fuentes was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Hicksville reliever José García picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Harvey Caldwell was saddled with the loss.

Hicksville used the timely hitting of Lou Wise to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hounds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Wise, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

The Hounds, now 34-40, have won 8 in a row.
