Late Rally by Centennial Secures Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial faced a tough opponent in Amarillo pitcher Rafael Navarro, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Henderson by a final score of 6-3. Navarro went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Dan Kennedy, credited with the win, is now 4-1. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. Fort Knox has now won 5 straight.
Fort Knox used the clutch hitting of Charles Barnes to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Centennial the lead, 3-2. For the game, Barnes had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"This team is real focused right now," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
