Rivera Helps Hounds Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Hicksville Hounds beat the Hudsonville Flanderses, 10-6, at Hound Pound. Ramiro Rivera was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The 21-year old catcher was a menace to Hudsonville all day. Jorge Bernard got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Hounds.
Rivera contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Hicksville in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 5-2, Rivera took a fastball from Bob Archer and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Hounds to leap in front, 6-5.
"I like the roll we're on," said Hicksville manager Ronald Harmon.
