Loss to Ducks Extends Redwood Losing Streak
|
Long Island Ducks starter Raúl Fuentes was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Redwood Rhinos, 6-3. Redwood's current losing streak is now 6 games.
Long Island used the timely hitting of Alfredo Torres to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Ducks on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Frank Bass. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
