The Memphis Music topped the Hicksville Hounds by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Norbert King. King was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Music on the day. Memphis reliever Jalo Lappi picked up the win to move to 5-1. Wop Koopman suffered the loss. Memphis has now won 3 straight, while the Hounds have lost 8 in a row.
King had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Wop Koopman, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Music a 7-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for King.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," King told the Memphis Observer.
