Loss Extends Amarillo Losing Streak
|
Fort Knox starter Mike Vanderbilt pitched effectively against the Amarillo Warheads at Ballpark of Henderson. The right-hander led his team to a 9-1 win. Vanderbilt went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 4-3. Amarillo's current losing streak is now 7 games.
Damon Bansfield hit a run-scoring double off José Blanco in the top of the second, which put the Centennial in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Bansfield had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Nick Hoskins.
