Victor Jones never let Amarillo get something going. The Fort Knox right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Centennial to a 2-1 win. The win was Edward Pritchard's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Benigno Lio took the loss for Amarillo. The losses continue to mount for Amarillo, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Luis Macazaga to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Centennial manager Justin Saginov, "I like our chances."
