McCarthy Helps Fort Knox Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial topped the Ladue Rams, 10-3, with youngster Rick McCarthy playing a key role. McCarthy was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Centennial in the win. Fort Knox reliever Tommy Casey picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gudrat Tumanov was saddled with the loss. The wins continue to add up for Fort Knox, with the latest making it 11 in a row.
Henry Williams hit a 2-run home run off Gudrat Tumanov in the top of the second, which put the Centennial ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Williams had 2 singles and 1 double, while going 4 for 5.
