New Orleans designated hitter Amon-Ra St. Brown was sensational. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Mateo beat the Voodoo, 5-4. St. Brown was named the player of the game despite the loss. Sylvain Richard, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings. Justin Frederick got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
With San Mateo leading 4-0 in the bottom of the third, Manuel Ramos hit a run-scoring single off New Orleans pitcher Rhys Maskell. It put the Dirty Reds ahead 5-0.
"This was a good win," said Ramos.
The Voodoo fall to 10-11 and continue their uneasy start to the 2043 season.
