Ducks Get Close Win Over Rhinos
|
James Dobbs did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Redwood Rhinos from losing, 6-4, to the Long Island Ducks at The Zoo. Dobbs was 3-4 with 3 doubles, while scoring 3 times. The winner was Jerome Henderson in relief. His record improves to 1-1. John Tripcony took the loss. The save was credited to Eric Corbin, his 1st.
Michizane Yamashita had the most critical at-bat for Long Island. With one in the top of the ninth inning, Yamashita hit a 2-1 fastball from John Tripcony for a 2-run single. It put Long Island in front, 6-4.
Yamashita called the triumph "a good team win."
