The Long Island Ducks downed the Amarillo Warheads, 5-3, at Ducks Park. The Ducks were led by Al Ruíz, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Ducks a record of 2-2.
Long Island took a 4-3 lead on Aki Latti's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Amarillo pitcher Álex Alagna in the bottom of the seventh.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ruíz.
