Breugelmans Helps South Beach Cruise to 11-3 Win
|
The South Beach Blaze beat the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 11-3, at Seahwaks Stadium. The Blaze got a fine performance from left fielder Niek Breugelmans, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The Blaze, at 61-34, lead by one game in their division.
South Beach relied on the bat of Connor Dunne to get the win. The third baseman produced a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put the Blaze ahead, 2-0. For the game, Dunne had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Vicente Rodríguez said.
