Blaze Clip Seahawks in Tight Contest

A nice crowd turned out to see the South Beach Blaze and Myrtle Beach Seahawks clash at Seahwaks Stadium.
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks got a superb performance from pitcher Wilson Tamayo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat South Beach. The Blaze won the game, 7-2. In spite of the loss, Tamayo was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Carl Mayes got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Earning his 3rd save for South Beach was Luis Silva.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Nebosja Peric to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Peric told the South Beach Daily.
The Blaze own a robust 60-34 mark.
