Seahawks Stun Blaze, 1-0
The Seahawks had to overcome a good performance from South Beach pitcher Hung-chang Wong to claim a 1-0 win at The Ballpark on the Beach. Wong went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was Joe Gregg's in relief. His record improves to 4-4. Hung-chang Wong took the loss for South Beach. The Seahawks have an impressive 46-29 record.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Tony Mendoza to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Seahawks on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Myrtle Beach manager Omer van Osch.
