Chiefs Take Nail-Biter Over Arryns
|
Roy Berriman had a good game, but he could not keep the Lake Erie Arryns from falling, 7-6, to the Caldwell Chiefs at Pipers Ballpark. The Lake Erie center fielder was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. Caldwell reliever Helge Zharuev picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Xin-fang Zha shouldered the loss. At 39-32, the Chiefs are currently 5th in the Premier A.
Derrick Davis hit a run-scoring double off Paco Solano in the bottom of the 13th, which put the Chiefs in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Davis had 2 singles, while going 3 for 6.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Lake Erie manager Miguel Saldaña.
