Seahawks Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Eugene pitcher Gyu-hyun Chong gave the Seahawks all they could handle, but in the end, Myrtle Beach left Seahwaks Stadium with a 6-3 win. Chong allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 6 innings. Myrtle Beach reliever Ricardo Rodríguez got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Gael Rabbetts was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Joe Gregg, his 4th.
Myrtle Beach took a 4-3 lead on José García's 54th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which García hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Eugene pitcher Roosevelt Mills visibly frustrated.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," García told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
The 9th-place Vandals have lost 4 straight games.
