Walk-Off Victory for Chiefs Takes Record to 32-22
|
The Chiefs had to overcome a good performance from Delmarva pitcher Dawson Nichols to claim a 4-3 win at Pipers Ballpark. Nichols went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Dong-choon Yi in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Phil Alldred took the loss. The Chiefs raised their record to 32-22.
Caldwell won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Phil Alldred on the mound for Delmarva, second baseman Gin-fan Chong hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Chiefs fans to their feet.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Caldwell manager Alexander Allen.
