Tula Win in Extras
|
Chicago got a first-rate effort from pitcher Chuck Spadina, who frustrated Delmarva hitters en route to a 3-1 Tula triumph at The Cage. The win was credited to Nathan May in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Paul Shannon took the loss. Jordan Murdoch nailed down his 2nd save.
Chad Brown had the most critical at-bat for Chicago. With two in the top of the tenth inning, Brown hit a 1-2 fastball from Miguel Morales for a 2-run double. It put Chicago in front, 3-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Chicago manager Mike Evans said.
Chicago has now won 4 in a row.
