Blue Dragons Score Late to Upend Tula, 2-1
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons defeated the Chicago Tula, 2-1, in USPL Single A action at Ramblers Ballpark, with Levittown pitcher Rodger Hunter named player of the game. Shao-qi Yeh picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-3. Nathan May was tagged with the loss. The Tula, at 12-33, have lost 5 straight games.
Levittown used the timely hitting of Frans Lissenberg to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Dragons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"That's baseball," said Chicago manager Mike Evans. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
