The South Beach Blaze racked up a win at The Ballpark on the Beach, bumping off the Lake Erie Arryns, 4-2. Hung-chang Wong, who started for South Beach, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was South Beach reliever Connor Wilson, now 1-3. The loser was Tyler Budge. The Blaze have an impressive 21-13 record.
South Beach took a 4-2 lead on Duane Halfyard's 10th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Halfyard hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Lake Erie pitcher Isaac Patterson shaking his head.
"I felt we were ready to go," said South Beach manager Vicente Rodríguez. "Our pregame was pretty good."
