Reapers Drop Gallos with Late Score
|
The Grim Reapers beat the Delmarva Gallos, 6-5, at The Coffin. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Yataro Nagai, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Grim reliever Josse Gavicho got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Paul Shannon was tagged with the loss. Delmarva, at 4-11, is off to a poor start in 2043.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 5-5, right fielder Tony Hernández won it for Grim. With a runner on 3rd, Hernández hit a full count fastball from Paul Shannon for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 6-5 win.
"It feels good to get this one," Nagai told the Grim Gazette.
