Arryns Win at Levittown, 7-2
|
The Lake Erie Arryns got a stellar performance from pitcher Jorge Torres, who handcuffed the Levittown offense en route to a 7-2 win at The Cave at Levittown. In 6.1 innings, Torres surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, Lake Erie improves its record to 6-7.
José López had a big run-scoring triple for the Arryns in the top of the fifth inning. With Lake Erie leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from César Cruz and stroked the triple to left. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Arryns ahead, 3-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Torres told the Lake Erie Herald.
