The 2043 season began for the Myrtle Beach Seahawks with a loss to the Caldwell Chiefs at Seahwaks Stadium. The final score was 8-6. Caldwell right fielder Luis Miguel Monteblanco earned top player honors.

Caldwell used the timely hitting of Gin-fan Chong to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Monteblanco said after the game.
