Vibes Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Bellevue Field, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2043 USPL Single A season. On the mound was Pedro Arredondo for the visiting South Beach Blaze and Bailey O'Donnell for the hometown Rocky Mountain Vibes. In a spirited contest, the Vibes pulled out the win, defeating the Blaze by the score of 3-2. Earning player of the game honors was Bailey O'Donnell. Rocky Mountain reliever James Tucker picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Connor Wilson absorbed the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Rocky Mountain pinch hitter Ramón Semprún, facing Connor Wilson, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Vibes the 3-2 win.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Brooks Dempsey.
