The Laredo Hawks defeated the Washington Generals, 4-3, at Washington Park. Laredo designated hitter Mark Wofford was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was André Noël in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Johnny Ijzendoorn took the loss. The Hawks raised their record to 50-46.
Laredo took a 4-1 lead on Wofford's 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Johnny Ijzendoorn in the top of the eighth, propelled Laredo to the win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez. "It's usually not just one thing."
