Bulls Pick Up 7-3 Win
|
The Belleville Bulls beat the Mancelona Torch, 7-3, at Belleville Field. The Bulls got a fine performance from right fielder Ed Dimock, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Joseph Ferguson, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 7-5. Luis Martínez earned the save, his 1st.
Jon Branch drew 1 walk for Belleville. In the bottom of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 3-3, Branch delivered for the Bulls. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Belleville on top, 4-3.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Dimock.
