Yinzers Win at Cut Off, 3-1
|
The Monroeville Yinzers defeated the Cut Off Crawdads, 3-1, in USSL Single A action at Crawdads Field, with Monroeville pitcher Aarre Rissanen named player of the game. Rissanen got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 1 hit and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Rissanen allowed 1 earned run. At 43-44, the Yinzers are currently 6th in the Silver A.
Monroeville used the clutch hitting of Dave Hall to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
