The home team gave the Smokies Stadium fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus picked up a win at Smokies Stadium, knocking off the Kent Comets, 5-4. Starting pitcher Randy Smith was an essential part of his team's success. Smoky Mountain reliever Dzevat Raskovic picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. António del Pozo was saddled with the loss.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Smoky Mountain trailing 4-3, Bob Clark jumped on a 1-2 fastball from António del Pozo for a 2-run home run, sending the Hobeaus to a walk-off win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Clark said.
The last-place Hobeaus are now 31-56, the Comets 54-33.
