Adam Wright pitched a gem to lead Mancelona to a 4-0 victory over the Washington Generals. Wright got the win, improving to 8-7. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. Wright allowed no earned runs. Will Smiley was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities.

The Generals had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Torch going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old right fielder Carlos Vélez came to the plate. Vélez hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 slider from Washington hurler Charles Harvey. It was Vélez's 15th double of the year.

Vélez told a Mancelona Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

Mancelona now sits in 9th place in the Silver A at 36-50.
