Multi-HR Day for Sullivan as Hawks Overpower Crawdads, 9-6
|
It was a fun time at Hawks Field, where the Cut Off Crawdads and Laredo Hawks tangled.
The Laredo Hawks defeated the Cut Off Crawdads, 9-6, at Hawks Field. Laredo first baseman Geoff Sullivan was named player of the game for his superb performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. De'Coldest Crawford, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save.
Sullivan contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Laredo in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Sullivan took a fastball from Paul Rhodes and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Hawks to leap in front, 3-1.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Leonardo Sánchez said.
Laredo has run its win streak to 7 in a row.
