Monroeville left-hander Aarre Rissanen pitched his team to a shutout win, 3-0, over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus. Todd Dean converted his 20th save in 23 tries. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Smoky Mountain.

The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Rissanen. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Yinzers. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Hobeaus, striking out 9 and scattering 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Rissanen is now 3-1 on the season.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Rissanen. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
