|
Laredo beat Kent on the strength of starter Mike Wilson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 2-0 win. Wilson, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. The first-place Comets have lost 4 consecutive games.
The result might have been different for Laredo, had it not been for Geoff Sullivan, the 23-year old second baseman . Sullivan stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Laredo up, 1-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
