Hermit Crabs Stymie Smoky Mountain, Take 2-0 Win
|
Pitcher Juan Ramírez was sensational for the Huntington Hermit Crabs in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus. Ramírez received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Huntington reliever Juan Ramírez was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Nicolas Cernin took the loss for Smoky Mountain. Rémy Moreau finished the game for Huntington and earned his 13th save.
Huntington used the timely hitting of Ron Burnett to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hermit Crabs ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ramírez.
Huntington currently is in second place in the Silver A at 47-32.
