The Laredo Hawks and Kent Comets put on a pitchers' duel at Fuller Park.

Laredo starter I-tsing Weng pitched effectively against the Kent Comets at Fuller Park. The right-hander led his team to a 1-0 win. Laredo reliever Bill Turner picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. António del Pozo took the loss. De'Coldest Crawford, credited with the save, is now 17 for 21 in save opportunities.

Laredo used the timely hitting of Elwiin de Meij to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hawks on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Weng said.

Laredo has now won 3 straight, while the Comets have lost 3 in a row.
